Just a few hours from the Rio Grande Valley, Lake Travis is now one of our favorite travel destinations in #Texas!
As part of our mini anniversary getaway, we booked a stay at Lakeway Resort & Spa. They made our time there extra special with complimentary champagne when we arrived and a suite with a gorgeous lake view. The resort overlooks Lake Travis and is absolutely gorgeous. During our stay, we enjoyed the swim-up bar at their adult pools and dinners watching the sunset.
Lake Travis
Lake Travis is great for recreational activities and water sports activities like jet skis, tubing, and boats. We rented a speedboat from Lakeway Marina and spent a couple of hours surfing through Lake Travis. This boat seats 4-6 people and goes for about $125 an hour. You can also rent a pontoon for a larger group for the same rate.
While hubby had never driven a boat in his life, he eventually got the hang of it. The employees were pretty helpful and explained to us how to navigate through the area. The hardest part was driving it off the marina because of where the boat was kept, but once out it was pretty simple. Although scary at first, we had a blast. This would definitely be a great activity to do with a group of friends as they fill coolers in the boat with ice and you can put your drinks there for a day on the river.
